Senior eCommerce Consultant


We’re looking for an experienced eCommerce Consultant to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering continued eCommerce success to our clients by understanding their business goals, identifying opportunities and actioning improvements to boost sales and profitability.

This role will see you become a true partner to your clients, sharing responsibility for the day-to-day trading of your clients webstores including sales, margin and conversion targets.

You will be expected to develop a deep understanding of your clients’ businesses, helping them to refine their end-to-end eCommerce strategy, including; product range, pricing, market segmentation, online merchandising, promotions, brand positioning and marketing communications.

Experienced in what it takes to manage a successful eCommerce store, you will advise clients on best-in-class eCommerce processes and technology, including; sales channels, delivery partners, payment providers, returns policy, distance selling regulations etc.

And, you’ll have the knowledge and skills to deliver user experience, conversion rate (CRO) and onsite SEO improvements to your clients’ websites by leveraging existing platform functionality, introducing new solutions, improving user experience and effectively merchandising key user journeys. All to clearly communicated timeframes and budgets.

You’ll also play a key role in the development of new webstores providing eCommerce and UX consultancy to both clients and colleagues. You’ll meet with stakeholders to understand project objectives and deliverables and work with experienced UX designers to deliver best-in-class customer experiences.

To ensure success you will proactively champion quality, and play a key role in launch plans ensuring that site performance, usability and onsite SEO are all delivered in line with current best practice including the effective migration of data and content.

As well as practical solutions, you’ll also be capable of providing your client’s with creative ideas, solutions to their problems and digital marketing advice. And provide insightful feedback on promotional campaigns and channel performance.

You’ll need to be an excellent communicator, providing clients’ in-house sales and marketing teams with ad-hoc support and advice, demonstrating success to senior stakeholders, ensuring high client satisfaction by building relationships and promoting all 9xb’s products and services through consultative selling.

Finally, as a senior member of the team, you will be expected to consistently lead by example in terms of performance, attitude and professionalism, retain an in-depth understanding of core technologies, eCommerce principles and UX design and actively mentor colleagues, transferring experience, expertise and knowledge to the wider team.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Experience of managing mid-market/enterprise level eCommerce store(s)
  • Solid understanding of UX, usability and CRO principles
  • Comfortable carrying out user testing
  • Good understanding of Google Analytics, onsite SEO and basic marketing principles
  • Confident managing/analysing key digital channels
  • An understanding of core web technologies

Desirable, but not essential:

  • B2B/Trade/Direct to consumer eCommerce experience
  • Shopify experience
