The Client
Tesco's School Gardens project is an educational and enjoyable programme enabling primary school children to get hands-on experience with growing food for themselves. It aims to increase children's awareness of food and farming, to develop a better appreciation of where their food actually comes from and the role that diet can play in health, with a focus on local produce.
Based on work done previously for Purely Nutrition, 9xb were asked to develop a distinctive website to be the main channel of communication supporting the Tesco's School Gardens project.
"The website provides lots of information to those interested in getting involved in this worthy scheme, it provides great support for teachers to help them to educate the young about food and where it comes from, and of course it helps to bring local food producers and consumers together."
Rob Burns, Account Director
"Working to very specific guidelines, we created a design that portrays the fun of the project and quickly segments different groups, directing them to relevant areas of the site in an easy to navigate way."
Gary Hartley, Account Designer
