Project: Facebook Application for 1BigPresent
To promote the newly launched 1bigpresent.com website, 9xb were approached by the client to consider ways to raise the profile of this innovative new gift service to their target demographic of 16 to 30 year olds. As the whole proposition was so new, browsers were unlikely to have any awareness of the concept of this service - and as an internet start up budgets were tight. Search marketing or buying traffic using pay per click was therefore never going to be the best use of budget.
Rather than try and bring the browser to 1bigpresent.com, the decision was made to take 1bigpresent.com to the customer. Facebook was identified as the perfect medium to target our clients demographic and build both awareness of the concept of this service and awareness of 1bigpresent.com as a brand.
With so much to do on Facebook, for this project to be a success it had to be appealing, amusing and stand out from the crowd. 1bigpresent.com had been initially created, to stop people sending each other gifts that they didn't really want, so we stood this on its head and "one crap present" was born.
This viral campaign created by 9xb featured a 1bigpresent.com branded Facebook Application enabling Facebook Users to send their own group of friends really bad taste gifts - full details of which it would be wholly inappropriate to mention on this website!
The campaign was closely monitored so the client could assess the impact of this application and we are delighted to announce it has been a HUGE success with presents being sent left, right and centre between Facebook users - who now all know about 1bigpresent.com.
