.... Well, almost. There was no winner! However The Museum’s website was singled out for particular praise and was awarded a special commendation for an outstanding, accessible website.
When the Thackray Medical Museum approached 9xb, their website was out of date, uninspiring and in desperate need of a complete redesign. The new site needed to showcase the museums exhibitions and collections in a fun, friendly and informative way. It needed to appeal across a number of different target audiences including school children, teachers, researchers, conference organisers and the general public.

The key challenges of the site build included ensuring it made information and media content completely accessible, exceeding W3C standards, for all those with disabilities and visual impairments. The Museum were keen to enter the prestigious Jodi Awards and kept us informed as they were first shortlisted to attend the awards ceremony, then the great news that they had been commended for the website.
Our very own Jonathan Beeley was the lead developer on the project and like a young child excitedly waiting for Christmas, he watched the Museum's progress through the awards with great interest. He's delighted to see that his work has been commended and also learnt a great deal from the project he has been able to pass onto the rest of the team at 9xb.
