For those not familiar with this race; 25,000 people descend on the market town of Knaresborough to watch 90 teams race through the streets pushing beds which are normally manned by a terrified child. After a couple of miles of sprinting they plunge into the river with the bed to swim across to the finish line. The race attracts national media coverage due to its complete absurdity, is a great day out and raises tens of thousands of pounds for charities and other good causes.
