As part of one of the biggest direct print groups in the UK, Paper Themes have been providing bespoke cards, stationery and paper based products for over 100 years. In recent times they have entered the lucrative personalisation market with a focus on the manufacture and distribution of wedding stationary.
A purely online initiative, the company has increased its turnover by £10 million since investing in online and selling its services direct to the public.
To be able to compete with big name online competitors, the client understood the importance of further developing their ecommerce platform to support personalisation and complement a new and improved digital marketing strategy.
Paper Themes have fantastic products and they needed a fantastic website to promote them.
With an ageing website and falling status in the search results for their core terms, Paper Themes realised they needed to re-fresh their approach to market and develop a new strategy to re-position them as the leading players in the bespoke stationery market.
Working with 9xb, they needed a start from scratch and rebuild their online pressence from the ground up. This woudl entail a complete redesign of their website with optimisation core to its development and the development of a fully featured ecommerce platform. Furthermore an advanced personalisation tool was required to enable customers to create custom stationery online and preview the artwork real time prior to calculating the cost and submitting their order.
Additionally, the platform needed to be developed to support white label websites that could be integrated with major high street retailers' websites.
Following the redesign and technical development of the website, we began work on the client's optimisation strategy. We mapped out their market place and identified which phrases their audience were using to find their products. From establishing these phrases we then applied the 'revenue potential' model developed by 9xb and established the primary, secondary and vertical areas to begin optimisation.
An overwhelming success, after six months the campaign had pushed Paper Themes into the top five search results for their core terms and delivered a 72% increase in year on year sales and 66% increase in year on year traffic to the site.
