With a firm emphasis on ‘local search’ the directory is both highly regarded by Google and is also a destination site for many loyal users.

    Cityvisitor can rightfully claim to be one of the most powerful websites in the UK. A hotspot for search engines it has developed naturally over the years to become a key advertising portal with the ability to generate massive amounts of traffic.

  • A 21st century strategy
    for digital success.

    The website has remained consistent and grown its strength naturally over the years. However, innovation has seen their competitors increase their visibility and push the boundaries in how they engage with the user to encourage brand loyalty and repeat visits.

    Understanding the need to evolve and adapt, 9xb were commissioned to work with Cityvisitor to create a 21st century website that promoted the best of local life, thereby differentiating itself from both like for like competitors and international search engines.  

    Working with Cityvisitor at board level, 9xb were commissioned to work as consultants in helping to develop the future strategy of the portal. This would involve extensive research followed by a detailed white paper with recommendations.

    9xb would then implement the agreed actions from the creation of the new corporate identity, through the design of the website user interface and then to work closely with the Cityvisitor technical team to redevelop the website and database.

  • 1.7 million pages optimised and engineered by 9xb.

    The new website launched in autumn 2011 and has been a great success. The new identity is modern and appealing and the new site features over 1.7 million pages with a fully intuitive predictive in-site search facility, geographical targeting and integrated mapping facility. Advertisers can log in to their control panel to update their listing details in real time, post offers, discounts and events; manage reviews, upload videos and create a gallerys of images. Online apps such as a blog builder and email broadcast tool further enhance the offering.

    Members of the public can create a ‘My Cityvisitor’ account to bookmark businesses, save searches, autocomplete enquiry forms and much, much more.
