Ask.com - Boxing Clever With AdWords
You’ve probably heard your website marketing company blabbering on about how you should consider using Google AdWords (their pay-per-click advertising system) to help sell your business. If you were in any doubt that it is a viable strategy for your business - consider this!
We’ve been doing a little research for one of our clients (who sells sulphur soap) when we discovered this in Google’s sponsored links…

Yep! That’s right - Ask.com are advertising their own search results pages through Google AdWords.
We applaud them! We reckon (whisper it) that Ask.com offer results that often equal Google’s in terms of quality - and their interface offers great ideas that even the mighty G could learn from. Actively marketing themselves through Google shows imagination and verve, and we hope it helps Ask to get a little more of the market that their product deserves.
Today’s Moral?
If advertising on Google is good enough for another search engine - then it’s good enough for you. If you haven’t considered it, then speak to us about how it might be able to help you gain sales and customers.

Hi Paul. Glad I found your post… I just noticed the same exact thing! I clicked through one of their ads and saw the Ask.com search listings for the keyword in question. I was floored. Definitely a bold move, don’t you think?

Hi Glenn It certainly is! Quite clever too. Personally, I’m using Ask.com more and more but they face the same problem that every other search engine does - how to get market share from Google. I’m sure that quite a few people would try Ask as a result and I think that’s all for the good.
