NEW GOOGLE ADWORDS FEATURE... BUT WHAT IS IT???
Paul Carpenter 13th March 2008
We bow to no-one in our admiration of Google's AdWords program (except, perhaps, the company accountants). Sometimes its easy to forget that this product is in a constant state of flux, with new features and quirks coming online all the time. Sometimes, we can't figure out what they are!
Any Suggestions?
Here's a queer little feature we've seen on AdWords recently. Beneath some of the standard, 3 line ads we've come to know and love... a fourth line has appeared containing the name of a town or a country.
Our first thought was that this represented the town in which the company is based. You can register your company with Google (through a slightly gimcrack method using postcards and phones) and tie it to a regional location so you will show up on map searches and the like (here's our listing, for example).
The very next result, however, showed not a town or city... but an entire country - England!
We're throwing our hands up, frankly, as to what this means, so until we've had chance to speak to Google, we're throwing the floor open to suggestions!

Although not sure about the \"England\" message - I\'ve never seen that before.
