MY WORK EXPERIENCE WEEK

Today we have a guest post from Will, who's here on work experience. Read on for an outsider's take on 9xb!

I have been doing work experience here at 9xb for a week and I have found it very interesting and sometimes quite fun. I think I have learned a lot more while I have been here aswell.

Throughout the week I have been doing jobs for people on the computer, for example I have used Photoshop to change all the image backgrounds for one website from grey to white which was quite a dull job that took me all day. I have also populated the new section of another website which was a bit more interesting than changing backgrounds of images.

In the studio Gary asked me to research and design some packaging for a dummy project. I searched google for the dimensions of a sim card which took a lot longer than I thought it would and then I worked out the measurements so the packaging would be a good fit and then designed it. I used a client website for some inspiration for the design of the packaging and when I had got the images I was going to use I put them in Photoshop and designed a template. I then printed it off and made the packaging.

Before I came here for work experience I didn't know much about web design or much about things like HTML. Throughout the week I have learnt quite a lot about what the workplace is like and I have learnt much more about Photoshop and HTML. I even created my own website for some practice with Dreamweaver.

Everyone in the studio has been really nice and answed any questions and given me help whenever I needed it.

All in all I have enjoyed working at 9xb for a week and it has been very useful.

Today's Moral

Well, there you have it. 9xb - exposed!
