LET ADWORDS HELP YOU BEAT THE CREDIT CRUNCH

We're in the middle of the worst economic downturn for decades and it's only going to get worse...

FACT: "Online ad spend in the UK grew by 21% to £1.68bn in the first six months of the year."

Amidst all this doom and gloom the online economy is booming and whilst the high street suffers, online retailers are reporting growing sales. Not only is there increased confidence in e-commerce, with people more willing to shop online, but the pressure's on to find bargains and save money. Browsing an e-shop is a guilty pleasure when trips to the high street are out of the question and there are steals to be had thanks to voucher codes and mailing list offers.

Despite all this, some retailers still find it difficult to move their marketing spend online – it's just another outgoing and they don't really know how it all works anyway. The truth of the matter is almost the opposite - moving your budget online can save your business money. You see exactly where each pound goes and you know exactly how much you get back. Let's take a more in-depth look at the benefits:

Lower Overheads

Imagine if all your business was done through your website instead of your shops – what would your outgoings be then? I'll bet the website is far cheaper.

Cheap Marketing

How much did your last magazine advert cost, or newsletter? How many people did it reach and how many of those were your target audience? For the same spend you can reach more of the right people – online advertising is targeted to those looking for your product, not just chance readers of the local paper. This means that every single online advert counts.

Track Every Penny

Every action can be tracked, from people seeing your advert to visiting your website to buying your product. You can justify your spend with your return on investment – something that's physically impossible with traditional offline methods. Online advertising gives you all the facts and figures you could wish for.

Today's Moral

The internet economy is safe for the time being and it's a huge market to tap into. Online advertising can help reduce your overheads and justify spending where it really counts – making the credit crunch look like a bad dream.

How to Reindex Your Website Quickly in a Search Engine
"Hi Cyndi You're going to find the same thing that a lot of people find when chasing rankings. Firstly, the hand-crafted jewellery market is very competitive because a lot of people are using the internet as their primary route to market - compared to selling at markets and craft fairs there's a potentially massive audience. That gives Google a big headache, because there are a million sites out there competing for its attention. Secondly, much of what determines their rankings comes from the history of the domain. If you've been going a long time, it says to Google that the business is well-established and therefore probably has a decent offering. Any brand new domain is going to struggle to get anywhere near the top of the rankings in the short term unfortunately. It's encouraging that Google is at least spidering and indexing your site, but you will have to do a *lot* of work in terms of content and link building to see returns in terms of rankings."

"I love reading al the information you have published for SEO. but....I have a question. I just started a handcrafted jewelry site www.cynfullyunique.com How do I know if it's being indexed. It appears, when I check my pages visited and people visisted that google bot has a lot of viists. I try to up-date it with new jewelry every two days. And is it good and what does it mean that google is visiting my pages often. My site is relatively new....2 months and I really need to get it ranked so I can sell some of my jewelry, etc."
